On the Mediterranean coast of France, Italian angler Roberto Accardi cast his surfcasting rig into the distance. Far below the waves, a worm bait settled near a groove in the sandy seabed. The quiet seabed soon became active.
A small fish entered the frame and approached the bait. It did not attack immediately. Instead, it moved closer, backed away, and returned again, carefully exploring the opportunity in front of it.
After several approaches, the fish finally made its move and grabbed the bait. But the large and resilient worm bait was not taken away easily. After the first attempt, it slipped back toward the groove in the seabed.
Another fish was still nearby.
Taking advantage of the moment, the second fish moved in and attacked the bait. The underwater footage captured a fascinating scene — two fish holding onto different ends of the worm bait, creating a small competition happening right on the seabed.
